Assisted with coordinating and facilitating two Community meetings to outreach and engage with Community members about climate change impacts and developing strategies for adaptation.

Surface Water Vulnerability & Risk Assessment
Yavapai-Apache Nation (2018/2019)

Conducted research and developed a Surface Water Vulnerability & Risk Assessment Report for the Verde River. The Verde River is sacred and culturally significant to the Yavapai-Apache people.

Climate Change Adaptation Planning
White Mountain Apache Tribe (2018)
Provided an overview (mini-training) of climate change and its impacts nationally and regionally; and highlighted various approaches to climate adaptation planning.
Conducted interviews and questionnaires to gather preliminary information from tribal departments about current data collection activities that may be helpful in determining vulnerability and potential strategies for various sectors within the tribe.
Developed a preliminary outline of a climate adaptation and resiliency plan.

Feasibility Study for Small Scale Composting
Gila River Indian Community (2018)

Conducted research and interviews with local small-scale farming enterprises actively composting to generate compost material to enrich soil for gardening. Another goal for this project was using and encouraging composting as a means to decrease and divert food waste into compost.

Green Sustainable Purchasing

Conducted research and developed a Green Sustainable Purchasing Plan that would be considered for implementation by the Community’s purchasing department.

Conducted a 4-hour strategic planning session in order to identify the PYT’s environmental priorities.

Water Reuse Strategy
Yavapai-Apache Nation (2019)
Developed a Water Reuse Strategy that outlines how the Yavapai-Apache Nation can conserve and reuse surface water in response to climate change impacts such as drought. Focus areas included irrigation, agriculture, and reuse strategies for non-drinking water uses.
